John Schlaefli has extensive experience in the media industry, starting in 1988 with RBI as a Deputy Advertising Manager. John then worked at The Builder Group Plc as Group Advertisement Director/Publisher from 1992 to 1997. In 1997, they became the Managing Partner at Fletcher Schlaefli Media until 2002. From 2002 to 2008, they were the Managing Director of Zelus Events, where they launched and ran international conferences. John briefly worked as the Head of Events and Sponsorship (consultant) at The Spectator in 2009 before becoming the Commercial Director at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) until 2011. In 2011, they served as the CEO of One to One Media, where they successfully rebranded and relaunched the company's digital proposition. From 2012 to 2013, they were the Commercial and Strategy Director at Nkd Eye Ltd, focusing on customer engagement and digital revenue streams. From 2015 to 2022, they held the role of Chief Revenue Officer at FIPP, driving commercial and marketing relationships within the global media sector. Currently, in 2021, they are a Co-Founder of Di5rupt Ltd, an integrated marketing services agency, where they oversee global partnerships and commercial engagement.
John Schlaefli attended Plymouth College from 1983 to 1987 but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. Subsequently, they attended Kingston University from 1986 to 1988, where they pursued a degree in Business Studies.
