Paul Desmarais

Paul Desmarais has a diverse and extensive work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Chairman and CEO at Sagard since May 2016. Paul is also the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman at Sagard | Portage Ventures since August 2016. Additionally, they are the Co-Founder and Chairman at Diagram Ventures since 2016. Paul is actively involved in the financial sector as well, serving as the Chairman of the Board at Wealthsimple since April 2015 and Chairman of the Board at Dialogue since January 2020. Paul has also served as a Board Member at various companies including Grayhawk, nesto, Imerys, and Personal Capital. Furthermore, Paul Desmarais held the role of Chairman at Peak Achievement Athletics, a sports brand holding company, from March 2017 to May 2020.

Paul Desmarais attended several educational institutions throughout their academic journey. Paul started their education at College Stanislas, where they studied from 1988 to 1991. Following this, they enrolled at Lower Canada College from 1993 to 1996. After completing high school, they continued their education at Lakefield College School, where they earned a high school degree between 1996 and 2000. Seeking further academic advancement, Desmarais went on to study at Harvard University from 2000 to 2004, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD between 2009 and 2010, specializing in Business.
