Ryan O’Donnell

Graduating from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) with a degree in Media with Film & Television Emphasis in 2003 was just the beginning for Ryan. He went on to create one of the most successful online-only video programs, The 1UP Show, before YouTube was anything other than a blip in the online media world. Five years later he and the crew on that show united to co-found Area 5.

Ryan is the “Quality Cop” at Area 5, his role as Post-Production Supervisor is the lion’s share of the reason why Area 5 projects always look and sound like their budgets were twice to three times actual. Ryan is the lead Editor, but is also a shooter and audio wizard.
