Alexander Korsunsky

Alexander Korsunsky is a seasoned academic and industry professional, currently serving as Editor in Chief for Materials & Design at Elsevier since November 2014. Korsunsky has a long-standing association with Rolls-Royce, advising on durability and lifing at the Oxford University Technology Centre for Solid Mechanics since October 1999. Concurrently, Korsunsky holds the position of Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford and is a Fellow and Tutor at Trinity College, Oxford, focusing on interdisciplinary culinary excellence. Additional roles include Visiting Scientist at Diamond Light Source and former Group Leader at the Research Complex at Harwell. Korsunsky has also engaged in international collaboration as a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore and Università degli Studi Roma Tre. Previous academic positions include a Lecturer in Materials Engineering at Newcastle University and a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. Korsunsky earned a DPhil in Engineering Science and Engineering Physics from the University of Oxford.
