Benton Cantey

S. Benton Cantey currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Diamondback Industries. In this position, he is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for the company and works closely with the Board of Managers and senior leadership team. Prior to his current role, he was a Partner and Chaired the Corporate and Securities section at the law firm of Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP in Fort Worth, Texas. His law practice focused on representing a variety of publicly traded and privately held corporate clients and family offices in complex mergers and acquisitions, including negotiated acquisitions and divestitures, controlled auctions, strategic alliances, and joint ventures. In particular, Mr. Cantey developed a niche practice representing wireline companies and other well service businesses in merger and acquisition transactions. Mr. Cantey also assisted clients with public and private financings through the issuance of debt and equity securities. Additionally, he regularly advised clients regarding various aspects of corporate and securities laws, including SEC compliance and corporate governance matters.

Mr. Cantey is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and has been voted by Texas Monthly as one of the Super Lawyers in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions. Additionally, Mr. Cantey was recognized as a Top Attorney in Corporate Finance/Mergers & Acquisitions by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine, and was named a Power Attorney and 40 Under 40 honoree by the Fort Worth Business Press. Mr. Cantey has also been named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Mr. Cantey Chaired the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic and served as an adjunct professor of law at Texas A&M Law School and adjunct professor of business law at Texas Christian University.

Mr. Cantey received a MEM from Duke University, LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation, with Distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. with highest honors from The University of Tulsa College of Law, MBA from Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business and BA from Auburn University.
