John van Valer

John Van Valer, MBA, serves as the Director of Information Technology & Cybersecurity at DigiStream Investigations, where efforts focus on modernizing IT infrastructure and enhancing cybersecurity practices. Previously, John held the position of Senior Software Engineering Manager at Intel Corporation, leading DevOps modernization for a vast developer base. As Chief of Cloud Services at CalPERS, John directed cloud services adoption and automated disaster recovery efforts. Additional roles include Director of Hosting Operations at PowerSchool, Senior Manager of Information Technology at Complete Genomics, and several positions at the California Department of Technology, MMI Genomics, Celera Genomics, Delta Dental, and Cornerstone Research. John holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of California, Davis, and a BA in Economics, Political Economics, and Computer Science from Carleton College.
