Hal Seki is a seasoned professional in civic technology and digital transformation, currently serving as a Senior Expert of Civic Tech at the Digital Agency since September 2021. As the Founder of Code for Japan since June 2013, Hal Seki has established a strong affiliation with Code for America and leads various initiatives to promote civic engagement and innovation. Seki is the CEO of Georepublic Japan, where GIS integration services and mobile applications are developed. Additionally, as the CEO of HackCamp, Seki organizes hackathons and workshops to facilitate open innovation. Advisory roles include serving as a Fellow to Hamamatsu city's digital transformation strategy, Chief Digital Service Fellow for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Kobe. Seki also contributes as Chief Information Officer for Nishiawakura Village and as Executive Advisor for Yamaguchi Prefecture’s digital strategy. Educational background includes studies at Tokyo Gakugei University.
