Eero Konttaniemi

Eero Konttaniemi is an accomplished IT leader with extensive experience in information management and digital service development across various governmental organizations in Finland. Currently serving as CIO, Director of Development and Information Management at Digi- ja väestötietovirasto since May 2022, Eero previously held the position of CIO at the Finnish Immigration Service from February 2018 to October 2023. With a strong foundation in project management and enterprise architecture, Eero has contributed to significant digitalization initiatives, including leading the development of Finland's National Data Exchange Layer (X-Road) and managing teams of over 100 professionals at the Population Register Centre. Eero's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Public Administration and Information Technology from the University of Lapland and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering from Lapland University of Applied Sciences.
