Rafael Guglielmetti

Rafael Guglielmetti has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Rafael is currently working at Digital Asset as a Staff Software Engineer & Team Lead, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to that, Rafael worked as a Senior Software Engineer for the Canton team at Digital Asset and as a Software Engineer for the same team. In 2021, they joined Inpher as a Software Engineer focused on privacy-preserving AI. From 2020 to 2021, Rafael worked at Bestmile as a Research Team Lead & Software Engineer, responsible for algorithm research and development. Before that, they held several roles at Bestmile, starting as an Algorithm Researcher and Software Engineer in 2017. Rafael also has experience in analyzing survey data at EMS La Clairière from 2014 to 2019. Rafael worked as a freelance developer at Rafael Guglielmetti développements from 2008 to 2018. In terms of education, Rafael obtained their Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Fribourg, where they also worked as a Teaching Assistant. Rafael has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at EPFL and served as an External Examiner for Etat de Vaud. Additionally, Rafael has gained experience in a service civil role as an Aide animateur at EMS La Clairière and as a Civiliste at Velopass.

Rafael Guglielmetti completed their education with a Master project in Mathematics at Imperial College London in 2012. Before that, they obtained an Msc in Mathematics from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) between 2007 and 2012. Rafael also holds a Maturité (baccalauréat) degree in Application des mathématiques et physique from Collège Sismondi, Genève, completed from 2002 to 2006. In terms of additional certifications, Rafael obtained certifications in Functional Program Design in Scala, Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark, and Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in 2017.
