Jay Johnston

Jay Johnston has extensive experience in various roles within the engineering field. Jay currently works as a Senior Customer Solutions Engineer at Digital Dynamics, Inc. since May 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Lead Controls Engineer at Full Speed Automation from September 2021 to March 2023. Jay also worked as a Strategic Account Manager at SANYO DENKI AMERICA, INC from June 2019 to September 2021.

In their earlier career, Jay held positions at Tesla as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer from February 2017 to January 2019, and at SolarCity as a Staff Software Engineer from May 2016 to February 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Mechatronic Engineer at Sky Tech International from February 2015 to May 2015. Jay was also a Member at PROFILE of Santa Cruz in 2015 and from September 2014 to February 2015.

Jay's early experience includes roles such as a Systems Engineer at Intermolecular from June 2010 to February 2014, and as a Mechanical Engineer at MRL Industries from 2008 to 2010. At MRL Industries, they were responsible for the design and integration of chemical refill and delivery systems, infrared heating modules, and heat exchanger systems for various applications in the PV industry.

Jay Johnston completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University in the years between 1996 and 2000. Jay is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at Santa Clara University, which is expected to be completed in the year 2023.
