Matthew Wintle

Matthew Wintle is a highly experienced medical professional currently serving as the Chair of the Research & Innovation Board and Associate Medical Director in Secondary Care at Digital Health and Care Wales since July 2023. Additionally, Matthew has been practicing as a Physician in Internal Medicine, Metabolic Diseases, and Gerontology at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board since March 2022. An Independent Medical Advisor since July 2015, Matthew has contributed to various digital health and life sciences organizations, focusing on health data and artificial intelligence. Previous positions include Specialist in Digital Health and Life Sciences at the European Connected Health Alliance, Director of Industry & Business Development at NIHR, and Global Medical Director at Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc., where significant achievements include securing FDA approvals for pioneering therapies and enhancing research partnerships in academia and industry. Matthew holds an MB BChir and MRCP(UK) from Cardiff University and has a background in pre-clinical medicine from Queen Mary University of London.
