Richard Jimmerson

Richard Jimmerson has a diverse work experience spanning from 1989 to present. Richard started their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant and rifleman, where they gained experience in network management and administration. After their military service, Richard worked as an MIS Director at The Analgesic Company, where they were responsible for maintaining the company's hardware and software and managing the staff and budget. Richard then joined Brown & Company as an Information Technology/Federal Procurement specialist, where they maintained the company's user network and servers and advised on IT purchases.

Richard's career in Internet resource governance and education began in 1998 when they joined ARIN as an Internet Protocol Analyst. Richard evaluated ISP eligibility for internet resources and trained ISPs and other internet users about the internet registry system and policies. Over the years, Richard held various roles at ARIN, including Director of Registration Services, Director of Operations, Director of External Relations, and Chief Information Officer. As the Chief Information Officer, they built and directed effective community awareness campaigns for IPv4 depletion and IPv6 adoption and was responsible for all ARIN's key messaging.

In 2011, Richard joined the Internet Society as the Senior Director of Deployment & Operationalization. In this role, they created and directed deployment and operationalization initiatives, including the Internet Society Deploy360 Programme. Richard was also a member of the Internet Society Senior Management Team.

Since 2013, Richard has been Chief Operating Officer at ARIN, overseeing the day-to-day internal operations of the organization, coordinating interdepartmental projects, serving as the primary liaison to ARIN legal counsel, and acting as the Chief of Staff. Richard'sprimary focus as Chief Information Officer is to ensure all registry services and systems meet the needs of ARIN customers. With their vast experience and knowledge in Internet resource governance, Richard has been instrumental in driving the success of ARIN and the Internet Society.

Richard Jimmerson obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from American InterContinental University. The exact duration of their education at the university is not specified.
