Akilah Allen

Akilah Allen is an experienced professional in education and public policy, currently serving as the Director of R&D Strategy and Projects at Digital Promise since August 2023. Prior to this role, Akilah worked at The Brookings Institution as a Senior Project Manager at the Center for Universal Education and held various positions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, including Program Officer and Associate Program Officer. Additional experience includes serving as the Interim Director of Policy & Planning at the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education, a Youth and Education Specialist for USAID/Southern Africa, and as an Associate at the Clinton Health Access Initiative. Akilah's educational background includes a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College, and a Master of Education from Brooklyn College.
