Colum Dunne is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as the Head (Dean) of the School of Medicine and Full Professor & Director of Research at the University of Limerick since October 2009. Additionally, Colum holds the position of Honorary Professor at Queen's University Belfast and serves as a Trustee and Council Member for the Healthcare Infection Society. Colum is a member of the Royal Irish Academy Life and Health Science Committee and has been the Director of the Centre for Interventions in Infection, Inflammation and Immunity since March 2011. A former CEO and Founding Director of SoloPep Ltd., Colum has significant experience in research and development from prior roles, including Director of R&D at Glanbia Nutritionals and General Manager at Cork Cancer Research Centre. Colum possesses an extensive educational background with a PhD in Microbiology from University College Cork, an MBA from The Open University, a BSc in Microbiology from University College Cork, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Commercial Law from the University of Limerick.
