Patrick Cortez

Manager, Social Impact at digitalundivided

Patrick Cortez is the Social Impact Manager of digitalundivided, the leading non-profit leveraging data, programs, and advocacy to catalyze economic growth for Latina and Black women entrepreneurs and innovators. Their goal is to create a greater world where all women of color own their work and worth.

In his current role, Patrick will be examining internal founder and programs data to more easily and quickly disseminate information to inform outcomes, curriculum development, and support for the stakeholders of digitalundivided. This information will also be leveraged to amplify the potential impacts that programs have, engagement of the founders, and develop a pipeline of funders and founders. Additionally, he collaborates with the Programs team in addition to the Partnerships & Events team to support external messaging and marketing.

Prior to his role with digitalundivided, Patrick has helped organizations increase their evaluation capacity by providing data consulting, evaluation expertise, and database administration. In his work with Diversity Research & Consulting, he consults with Los Angeles County organizations providing violence prevention and also homeless housing services while also helping the organizations attain first-time institutional funding. He has also worked in other sectors, including college access and success, education, and leadership development.

Since 2013, Patrick has been a member of the American Evaluation Association (AEA), a professional organization for those practicing, learning, and training in program evaluation in North America. Since joining, Patrick has engaged in their provided webinars, trainings, blogs, and has presented for them once in person during the 2015 AEA Conference about dashboard development, and another time virtually during a Coffee Break Webinar about how to manage evaluation anxiety during a project. Patrick has also been a member of the Southern California Evaluation Association (SCEA) to also from closer ties to evaluators in his immediate area.

Patrick completed his M.A. in Psychology (Positive Organizational Psychology with a concentration in Evaluation and Applied Research Methods) in 2016 from Claremont Graduate University. In 2011, he graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
