PKI Engineer at Dignari

Edward Freeman has been working in the information security domain since 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Security Specialist at NTT DATA. During this time, they supervised numerous personnel in daily operations and served as a PKI Registration Authority, issuing, revoking, renewing, and managing PKI certificates for the end-user community. Edward also processed and issued permanent PKI SACS Badges and Intelligence Community (IC) Badges to all Bureau and non-Bureau personnel requiring access to FBI and IC worksites.

From 2015 to 2016, Edward Freeman worked as a Registration Authority Specialist at NCI Information Systems, Inc. During this time, they provided specialized expertise as an IdAM Specialist, assisting the Local Registration Authority personnel in the creation of SIPR (Classified) and NIPR (Unclassified) PKI tokens and/or certificates. Edward executed training sessions with new IdAM specialist utilizing DoD practices, policies, procedures, and standards as outlined in the RPS (SIPR/Classified) and CPS (NIPR/Unclassified). Edward also managed the end-to-end lifecycle of Army digital identities and access controls, created PKI Mobile-Code Signing, Group, Role Based Certificates, and PKI GO (General Officer) tokens.

From 2016 to 2020, Edward Freeman worked as an Information Security Analyst II at General Dynamics Information Technology. During this time, they supported revocation and suspension of a certificate on Unclassified and/or Classified networks, restoration of suspended certificates, and registration and/or termination of LRAs. Edward also performed third party key recoveries, approved issuance of certificates to network NPEs, and produced and delivered an Issuance report. Edward supported retention of all associated documentation for a period of 10 years for DoD and 0 years 6 months for NSS documents.

From 2020 to 2022, Edward Freeman worked as a Sr. Registration Authority Analyst at both Qbase LLC and CENTERPOINT INC. During this time, they supported revocation and suspension of a certificate on Unclassified and/or Classified networks, restoration of suspended certificates, and registration and/or termination of LRAs.

Currently, Edward Freeman is working as a PKI Engineer at Dignari, LLC. In this role, they focus on public key infrastructure (PKI) information security domain architecture planning, design, and related functions in the areas of PKI encryption solutions, cryptographic services, key management, and related security technologies within the enterprise. Edward also implements, supports, and maintains a secure Certificate Authority (CA) to support the latest technology while meeting federal policies and applicable directives. Edward applies in-depth knowledge of the complexity of enterprise PKI and encryption and to encryption and key management technology solutions in various enterprise environments including cloud infrastructure, digital signing capabilities, public key-based encryption, and authentication services using digital certificates.

Edward Freeman attended the College of Southern Maryland, where they studied General Studies. Edward also obtained several certifications from the College of Southern Maryland, including CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) in September 2018, CompTIA Security+ in February 2015, CompTIA Network+ in December 2014, and CompTIA A+ in August 2014.
