Adam Allevato has a diverse work experience. Adam started their career in 2009 as a Freelance Web Developer, where they worked with multiple clients to create, upkeep, and upgrade personal and corporate websites. In 2011, they became the Webmaster for Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp., where they administrated, upkept, and helped design new features for the multi-media site collegian.com. In 2013, they worked as a Summer Analyst at Morgan Stanley, where they participated in SQL application development and learned the Hadoop stack. In 2014, they began their Graduate Research Assistant role at The University of Texas at Austin, where they developed new machine learning-based methods to use simulation to make robots more robust and accurate. In 2015, they were a Graduate Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they developed and designed an automated system for small metal part inspection processes. In 2016, they returned to Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Graduate Research Associate. In 2017, they were a Software Engineering Intern at Open Robotics, where they improved computer capabilities in ROS and Gazebo. In 2018, they were a Software Engineering Intern at Diligent Robotics, where they designed and implemented numerous ROS packages. In 2020, they were a Robotics Engineer at Pensa Systems. Adam is currently a Senior Robotics Software Engineer and Robot Perception Lead at Diligent Robotics.
Adam Allevato began their academic career at Arapahoe Community College in 2009. Adam then attended Colorado State University from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2016, where they earned a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Robotics. Finally, Adam completed their education at The University of Texas at Austin from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering.
