One of the top historically black universities (HBCU) in the country, DillardUniversity in New Orleans, Louisiana is an academically rigorous,traditional liberal arts school with a highly impressive list of alumni.The Dillard campus is comprised of historical buildings over a wide area.Well over 100 years old, Dillard offers a traditionalesthetic in whichto learn and study.Academics at Dillard are divided into distinctive schools, including theCollege of General Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences, whichoffers degrees in the fine, liberal and performing arts, the natural andsocial sciences and humanities.There is also a College of Professional Studies that offers, amongothers, a degree in Nursing and a College of Business.Many Dillard students also participate in community service, study abroadand leadership activities.Since Dillard students are so successful in their academic andco-curricular activities, many of them have gone on to graduate school atsuch places as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Johns Hopkins.Transcripts, ACT or SAT scores and recommendation letters are required ofall applicants under age 23.
