John Cenzano-Fong

John Cenzano-Fong has over 20 years of experience in the field of data engineering and software development. John is currently working as a Lead Software/Data Engineer at Dimensional Fund Advisors since 2023. Before that, they worked at Amino from 2019 to 2023, where they served as a Staff Data Engineer and Lead Data Architect. At Amino, they were responsible for managing all data engineers, developing data engineering frameworks, and implementing various commercial products.

Prior to their role at Amino, John worked at LendUp from 2016 to 2019, where they served as a Principal Data Engineer and Senior Data Engineer. During this time, they played a key role in establishing a data lake using S3, developing data pipelines, and improving data quality.

Before LendUp, John worked at Gap Inc. as a Sr. Data Engineer, where they focused on customer data analytics. John created data aggregation processes, implemented data quality frameworks, and developed customer recognition logic.

John started their career at Salesforce in 2009, where they worked as a Lead Member Technical Staff and Senior Member Technical Staff. John was responsible for designing and developing data structures, building ETL frameworks, and maintaining data warehouses.

Prior to Salesforce, John held roles at Barclays Global Investors, QuinStreet, Gap Inc. (contracted through Magley & Associates), Macromedia (contracted through Addecco Technical), and DigitalThink.

John Cenzano-Fong attended UC San Diego from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a BA degree in Economics, Urban Studies & Planning. Prior to that, they attended Santa Monica College in 1990 and California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 1989 and 1990, focusing on architecture.
