Mathew Phipps

Mathew Phipps is currently serving as the Priest-in-Charge of The Old Town Parish in Hastings under the Diocese of Chichester since September 2023. With significant experience in the Church of England, Mathew has held positions as a Deacon, Priest, and Chaplain to the Bishop of Winchester since June 2015. Prior to current ecclesiastical roles, Mathew worked in various capacities, including as an HGV Driver at Vitacress and as a Div Don at Winchester College. Mathew's legal background includes serving as Legal Counsel for the Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance, Deputy Diocesan Registrar for the Diocese of Winchester, and Solicitor at Lester Aldridge. Educational accomplishments feature a Master of Arts in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from the University of Nottingham, along with degrees in Biblical & Intercultural Studies and law from renowned institutions.
