Deacon Dave D.

Deacon Dave D. serves as the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee since January 2024 and has been a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Knoxville since January 2005, holding various roles including Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning, Training, and School Sustainability. Prior to this, Deacon Dave acted as the Interim Executive Director at Catholic Charities of East Tennessee from August 2023 to January 2024. With extensive experience in security, Deacon Dave worked as an International Nuclear Security Consultant at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2010 to July 2023, and held positions with the IAEA and as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, from which Deacon Dave retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Deacon Dave's educational background includes an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and a BBA in International Business from The George Washington University, among other educational achievements.
