Wendell Hissrich

Wendell Hissrich is an experienced safety and security professional currently serving as the Director of Safety and Security for the Diocese of Pittsburgh since August 2023. Prior to this role, Wendell held the position of Director of Public Safety for the City of Pittsburgh from January 2016 to January 2022. Wendell's extensive background with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) spans over 25 years, where roles included Chief of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate and Supervisory Special Agent in various divisions, including Counterterrorism and the Laboratory Division. Wendell began the FBI career as a Special Agent in both the Los Angeles and Cleveland Field Divisions, and also contributed as an instructor in New Agents Training. Wendell's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Duquesne University.
