A serial entrepreneur in the early San Diego biotech industry, Mathur participated in formation of several start-ups including Stratagene Cloning Systems (acquired by Agilent); Diversa Corporation (acquired by BASF & British Petroleum,) and Synthetic Genomics (spinout Agradis acquired by Monsanto), among others.
