Dan Melton has been a successful entrepreneur and engineer in the tech industry since 2001. Dan started their career as a Consultant before founding NPT Labs, LLC in 2007. In 2008, they Co-Founded ShoutNow. From 2010 to 2012, they were the CTO of Code for America and in 2012 they were Deputy Chief Technology Officer of Granicus. From 2015 to 2018, they were Principal Engineer and Chief Technology Officer of Neighborly. In 2018, they Co-Founded Fetch and from 2019 to 2021, they were Vice President of Engineering and Staff Software Engineer of Dipsea. Currently, they are Co-Founder of Danamor, a fashion hobby and atelier.

Dan Melton completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2002. Dan then went on to pursue a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the same university and graduated in 2003. Finally, Dan Melton earned their PhD in Public Affairs/Economics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007.
