Alan Cherkas

Alan Cherkas is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, currently serving as a Senior Wholesale Originator at Direct Energy Business since August 2018. With extensive experience in wholesale energy supply procurement and sales, Alan specializes in clean and green electricity, renewable natural gas, and environmental products. Prior to this role, Alan spent a decade at Shell Energy as Vice President of Origination, focusing on renewable energy and environmental attributes. Alan's career also includes significant positions in business development and origination at Fortis Bank, Cinergy, DTE Energy, and Engage Energy, contributing valuable expertise in energy management services and asset development. Alan holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Dalhousie University and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
