Duncan Phillips has had a long and successful career in the capital markets industry. Duncan began their career in 2001 at Citi, where they held several roles including Managing Director, Head Asia-Pac Debt Syndicate, Head Yen Debt Syndicate, Debt Capital Markets, and Fixed Income Ecommerce. In 2014, they took on the role of Chair/Vice Chair of ICMA's Asia Syndicate Forum, where they led discussions with other heads of syndicate and established a policy of best practices. In 2016, they became Managing Director, Global Head of Capital Markets at Ipreo, where they were responsible for commercial and product strategy across FI and Equity bookbuild platforms, and lead the development and scaling of the Investor Access platform. In 2018, they became an early investor at Capdesk, and in 2019 they took on the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Nivaura, where they were responsible for developing commercial strategy across various revenue streams, and establishing/strengthening client relationships across banks, issuers, and law firms. In 2020, they became a Guest Speaker and Course Coordinator at ICMA and Chair of Finance Committee/Board Member at The Cavendish School Charitable Trust. Most recently, in 2021, they became Managing Director, Head of Europe at DirectBooks.
Duncan Phillips attended the University of Edinburgh Law School, where they obtained an LLB in Law and Economics.
