Gillian Tweedie has over 18 years of work experience. Gillian started their career in 2002 as an Administration Manager at D M Wood Medical, part of Kays Medical Group, where they were responsible for the company's e-commerce presence on the web, including initial design specifications, outsourcing, overseeing development and implementation, as well as day-to-day maintenance, security and upgrades. Gillian also conducted customer service support and training on the website. In 2011, they joined eWAY as an Account Executive Sales Support, where they were responsible for completing and checking of merchant service applications for their partnered bank, First Data. Gillian also compiled opportunity reports for First Data and dealt with requests from Anti-Money laundering and risk teams. Gillian was later promoted to UK Accounting Partner Manager, where their main focus was on educating accountants and developers on payment gateways and merchant accounts to encourage referrals, specifically concentrating on eWAY's integration with Xero, cloud accounting software. Gillian was also responsible for securing inbound sales opportunities, promoting multi-channel propositions and assisting clients obtain merchant accounts with acquiring banks. In 2016, they joined DirectID as a Technical Support Manager and Technical Support.

Gillian Tweedie attended St Margaret's, Aberdeen from 1990 to 1997. Gillian then went on to The University of Edinburgh, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physics with Meteorology from 1997 to 2001. In 2006 and 2007, they attended Glasgow College of Nautical Studies to obtain a JAA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
