Eric Laurent has extensive experience in project management and information technology, currently serving as Chef du pôle "Projets RH, Comptabilité, Fiscalité" at Direction générale des douanes et droits indirects (DGDDI) since September 2018. Prior to this role, Eric Laurent was Chef du pôle informatique at the Direction régionale de Polynésie française from September 2014 to August 2018, where the focus included the replacement of the Sofix customs clearance system. Eric Laurent's earlier experience at DGDDI from April 2006 to August 2014 encompassed multiple roles, including Chef de pôle "Projets communautaires," Chef de projet BI, and Contrôleur de gestion.
