Direction Home Akron Canton has been a leader in long-term care for over 40 years, serving thousands of individuals throughout Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne Counties. Direction Home Akron Canton, along with 11 other Area Agencies on Aging across the state of Ohio, was designated by the Older Americans Act which was designed to provide services to persons not adequately served by other public and private systems. Our focus is funding and advocacy surrounding programs and services that allow older adults and people with disabilities to remain independent and in the home of their choice.
