Kathryn Ayers Wickenhauser, MBA, CHPC, CHTS has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Kathryn currently holds the position of Senior Director of Community Strategy at DirectTrust since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Communications at DirectTrust from February 2019 to January 2023.

Before joining DirectTrust, Kathryn worked at DataFile Technologies where they held multiple roles. Kathryn served as the Compliance & Industry Education Manager from February 2018 to October 2018, where they focused on thought leadership development, content strategies, education, communications, and public relations. Kathryn also worked as a Regulatory Compliance Advisor from September 2014 to February 2018, responsible for navigating government initiatives, assisting clients with HIPAA compliance, and conducting Security Risk Analysis.

Prior to their tenure at DataFile Technologies, Kathryn worked at GBS as a Healthcare Consultant and Healthcare Reform Team Lead from January 2013 to August 2014. Kathryn also served as a Healthcare Reform Consultant and EHR/EMR Implementation Specialist from October 2011 to August 2014.

Kathryn began their career at KIG Healthcare as an EMR/EHR Implementation Specialist from June 2011 to October 2011, before the company merged with GBS Corp. Kathryn also gained valuable experience as a Student at Westminster College from 2007 to 2011.

Earlier in their career, Kathryn worked as an EMR Data Entry Specialist at Patients First Health Care from May 2008 to January 2011, where they handled the conversion of patient information into electronic form and interacted directly with patients. Kathryn also worked as a Research Technician and Lab Technician at Washington University School of Medicine, conducting stroke-related research projects under the direction of Dr. Mark Goldberg and Dr. Christine LaPash Daniels.

In 2005, Kathryn briefly served as a Medical Data Entry employee at Sisters of Mercy Health System.

Throughout their career, Kathryn has demonstrated expertise in healthcare compliance, industry education, regulatory advisory services, EHR implementation, and research.

Kathryn Ayers Wickenhauser completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biopsychology, Leadership, and Business at Westminster College (MO) from 2007 to 2011. Kathryn pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Webster University from 2012 to 2015. Prior to their college education, they attended Parkway West High School from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained certifications such as Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) in 2017, and Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist from AHIMA in 2013. Kathryn has also completed various other certifications, including Credly Essentials and NextGen Certified Professional - EHR and ICS.
