Shirley Brown

Shirley Brown is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in disaster response and community support. Currently serving as the Community Living Ombudsman for Region 9 at Disability Rights Louisiana since September 2019, Shirley has a strong background in case management, having previously worked as a Disaster Case Manager with both Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response and The Advocacy Center. Shirley provided critical support to individuals affected by hurricanes, offering resources, advocacy, and recovery services. Additionally, experience as a Resource Linkage Coordinator for the Louisiana Spirit program involved delivering counseling and support to disaster survivors. Shirley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational & Communication Theory from Southeastern Louisiana University.
