Jenessa Seymour

Voting Rights Advocate at Disability Rights New York

Jenessa Seymour currently serves as a Voting Rights Advocate at Disability Rights New York since July 2022. Prior to this role, Jenessa was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Skidmore College from August 2020 to June 2022 and a Visiting Professor at both Western New England University and Mount Holyoke College in 2019. Additional academic experience includes serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Colgate University and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Jenessa taught several courses in psychology and molecular biology, completing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience there in 2017. Jenessa’s research experience includes multiple roles as a Research Assistant, focusing on various projects related to cognitive skills, rat vocalizations, and peripheral visual attention tasks. Jenessa holds a Doctor of Law degree from Albany Law School, with an expected graduation in May 2024, and a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.
