Jennifer Monthie has a wealth of experience in disability rights advocacy. Jennifer began their career in 2003 as a Staff Attorney at Disability Advocates, Inc., where they focused on education, community integration, and civil rights for individuals with developmental disabilities. Jennifer was also a founding member and Co-Chairperson of the Special Education Taskforce. In 2013, Monthie joined Disability Rights New York as Director of the PADD Program, a role they held until 2017 when they were promoted to Legal Director. Prior to that, they briefly worked as a Senior Staff Attorney at Disability Advocates Inc. in 2013.
Jennifer Monthie attended Seton Catholic Central for an unspecified period of time. Jennifer then pursued their undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Fredonia from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science. Jennifer later attended Albany Law School from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
