Rene Rivera has a long history of work experience. Rene started their career in 1997 as President of Redshift Software. In 1998, they became Lead Software Engineer at Jellyvision Inc., where they led the development of multiple projects. In 2002, they became a Contributor at Boost. In 2005, they became a Sub-Contractor at BoostPro Computing. In 2007, they became President of Couchworld Games. In 2014, they became Senior Software Engineer at Phosphor Games, where they worked on Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) engine development for the Epic Games platform team. Rene was also Senior Programmer at Wideload Games, The Walt Disney Company in 2014. In 2018, they became a Board Member at The C++ Alliance, Inc. and in 2022, they became a Board Member at Chicago Developer Development NFP.

Rene Rivera attended Loyola University Chicago from 1987 to 1993, earning a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1993 and an M.S. in Computer Science in 1992.
