Cara Schulz, CFE, has extensive experience in internal auditing, with a career spanning over 17 years. Currently serving as Director of Internal Audit’s Shared Assurance Services at Discover Financial Services since February 2015, Cara has progressed through various roles including Senior Manager and Project Manager within the Internal Audit department. Prior experience includes a tenure at Central States Funds, where Cara held the position of Supervisor Compliance Auditor, managing teams and ensuring adherence to departmental standards. Cara began her career in compliance auditing, confirming records and preparing audit plans. Educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Insurance and a Bachelor of Science in Insurance from Illinois State University, completed in 2006.
