Jorge Vargas

Jorge Vargas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in payment technology and fraud management, currently serving as Principal of Payment Tech Development at Discover Financial Services since 2006. In this role, Jorge is a key figure in the development of new payment technologies and standards, representing Discover at EMVCo and shaping the strategic roadmap of the global network. Previous roles include Project Manager in various capacities, driving the development of new industry standards, managing fraud-related initiatives, and improving operational efficiencies. Prior to Discover, Jorge worked as a Team Manager at JPMorgan Chase, overseeing credit card fraud operations. Jorge holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northern Illinois University and an Associate of Arts from Elgin Community College.
