Anil Swarup M.D. Fapa

Anil Swarup MD MBA FAPA has extensive experience in the field of psychiatry and behavioral health. Anil has held various positions throughout their career, starting with their role as a Psychiatrist at Emergency Psychiatry Medicine from 2012 to 2018.

In 2014, they became the Medical Director and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Phoenix House, where they contributed to addiction treatment and recovery for adolescents.

Anil Swarup then went on to serve as the Medical Director at Center for Discovery from February to September 2019, and as the Medical Director of Adolescent Psychiatry at Haven Behavioral Healthcare from July 2019 to June 2020.

In 2019, they also took on the role of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Anil Swarup has continued to pursue leadership roles, serving as the Behavioral Health Medical Director at Recuro Health from October 2018 and as the Medical Director at Eating Disorder Solutions starting from March 2019.

More recently, they were the Medical Director at Newport Healthcare from October 2021 to August 2023, and currently serves as the Medical Director at Discovery Behavioral Health since September 2023.

Dr. Anil Swarup has an extensive education history in the medical and business fields. Anil obtained their M.B.,B.S. degree in Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1999. Dr. Swarup later completed their residency in General Psychiatry at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport from 2002 to 2005. Anil then pursued a Fellowship in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2005 to 2007. In 2019, Dr. Swarup completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business. Anil also holds certifications in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM), obtained in January 2022, and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as General/Adult Psychiatry, from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. obtained in 2011 and 2010, respectively.
