Senior Test Automation Design Engineer at DISTek Integration

Daniel Aceituna has been in the software engineering industry since 1989, beginning with a role as a Software Developer at North American Vending. Daniel then moved to MH Associates, where they were Technical Manager. In 1996, they joined John Deere as a Manufacturing Test Engineer and held various other positions, including Product Test Engineering, SW testing, and Research and Development technician. Daniel also performed software development in VC++, Embedded VC++, and Matlab for the advance tech group. In 2008, they joined Microsoft Corporation as a Software Engineer in Test. In 2010, they became a Full-time Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at North Dakota State University, teaching Visual Basic and tutoring in Java, conducting three classroom experiments, and publishing and presenting four research papers at various conferences. Currently, they are a Senior Test Automation Design Engineer at DISTek Integration, designing test automation solutions for major original equipment manufacturing companies, as well as being a team lead and heading up the continuous integration of Functional Safety into DISTek processes.

Daniel Aceituna has a long and varied educational history. Daniel began their studies in 1977 at Miami Dade College, where they obtained an Associate of Science Electronic Technology in Electronics. Daniel then attended Florida International University from 1981 to 1986 as an Electrical Engineering Student, majoring in Electrical Engineering. After that, they attended North Dakota State University from 2001 to 2004, obtaining a Bachelor of University Studies with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering/Computer Science. Daniel then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering at North Dakota State University from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching in Education from North Dakota State University in 2010. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Computer Software Engineering from North Dakota State University in 2015. In 2020, they obtained a DevSecOps: Automated Security Testing certification from LinkedIn. Daniel also holds a Graduate of Theology from MBC.
