Manager, Inbound Programs at Distress Centres of Greater Toronto

Marcea Fraresso currently serves as the Manager of Inbound Programs and Supervisor of 9-8-8 at the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto since November 2023. Previously, Marcea held several positions at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company from February 2017 to April 2022, including Manager of Shopper Marketing. At Mattel, Inc., from March 2008 to February 2017, responsibilities included Visual Merchandising Planner in the Trade Marketing Department and Trade Marketing Associate, as well as Sales Coordinator, all of which emphasized project management and cross-functional collaboration. Before that, Marcea worked as a Reminiscence Coordinator at Sunrise Senior Living and as Administrative Coordinator at St. Luke's Dixie Senior Residence Corp, focusing on resident support and administrative processes in senior living environments. Educational qualifications include a BA in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Toronto Mississauga and ongoing studies towards a BSW in Social Work at McMaster University.

Distress Centres of Greater Toronto

For 50+ years, Distress Centres of Greater Toronto has provided 24-hour support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to individuals in our community who are at-risk and vulnerable. We are Canada’s oldest volunteer delivered crisis, emotional support, and suicide prevention + intervention + postvention service agency. Our crisis and emotional distress services are available via telephone, online chat, and text. We provide services in 9 different languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. We also offer face-to-face individual and group support/counselling to those who have lost a loved one to suicide or homicide and are navigating through their healing journey. Distress Centres of Greater Toronto continues to expand, and our service users, service demands, and call volume increase each year.
