Jennifer Gerrard

Jennifer Gerrard has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jennifer currently serves as the General Counsel at Distributed Solar Development, LLC since January 2019. Prior to this, they worked at GE Ventures as the Chief Commercial Counsel for New Business Creations from November 2017 to January 2019. Their responsibilities included providing legal support to companies incubated by GE Ventures.

From May 2013 to November 2017, Jennifer worked at GE Power as the Executive Sourcing Counsel. In this role, they oversaw all legal matters related to global sourcing and supply chain, including managing contracts and legal approvals for purchases ranging from $9 to $13 billion. Jennifer also restructured the legal support system and simplified approval processes.

Before joining GE Power, Jennifer was a partner at Smith & Gerrard from February 2000 to May 2013. Jennifer represented Fortune 500 companies, closely held businesses, and individuals in various domestic and international business matters. Their practice areas included commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financings, entity formation and governance, construction, healthcare, and commercial real estate.

Prior to that, Jennifer worked as an associate at Cain Hibbard & Myers PC, representing a Fortune 500 company and closely held businesses in general corporate matters, transactions, financings, and the purchase and sale of businesses. Jennifer also worked as an associate at Grinnell & Dubendorf and Peabody & Arnold LLP, gaining experience in various legal areas.

Earlier in their career, Jennifer served as the Vice President at Corporate Performance Systems for a brief period in 1988. Jennifer also worked as an Assistant Vice President at Midtown Bank & Trust Company from 1982 to 1987.

Overall, Jennifer has extensive experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and global sourcing and supply chain management.

Jennifer Gerrard has a Bachelor's degree from Beloit College. Jennifer also holds two Master of Arts degrees - one in Philosophy from the University of Chicago and another in International Relations, also from the University of Chicago. Jennifer further pursued their education at Boston University, where they obtained a Doctor of Law - JD degree.
