Douglas Stewart has a rich work experience in various roles and companies. Douglas started their career as the CEO and Founder of Squash POS from 2004 to 2008, where they developed a web-based architecture for managing multiple store locations and an integrated e-commerce website. Douglas then worked as a Senior Executive in Vivonet from 2008 to 2012, where they were part of the post-acquisition executive team and contributed to the development of Vivonet Cloud POS. In 2012, they founded Quetzal POS, a cloud-based iPad POS system aimed at helping small business owners in the retail industry. In 2017, Douglas co-founded Distributive and played a crucial role as the Director of Special Projects. Douglas also co-founded Distributed Compute Protocol - SPARC and BirdPay in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Douglas Stewart is known for their entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in developing innovative retail technology solutions.

Douglas Stewart attended Queen's University between 1984 and 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History.
