Christy Watters Rivette has had a diverse work experience. Christy started their career in 2006 as a Health Promotion Specialist at MediFit Corporate Services, where they worked until 2008. Following that, from 2008 to 2013, they served as an Extension Educator at Michigan State University. In 2013, they joined the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan as an Associate Program Manager, a role they held until 2019. Currently, since April 2019, they have been working as the Director of Community Health at District Health Department # 10.
Christy Watters Rivette received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Hope College in the years 1999 to 2003. Christy then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Health Science from Ball State University from 2005 to 2006.

District Health Department #10 was formed October 1, 1997, through the consolidation of four health departments into one organization. DHD#10 is the largest geographical health department in Michigan and is the tenth largest based upon population.
