Staff Engineer at Ditto

Thomas Karpiniec began their work experience in 2011 as a Graduate Engineer at Aurora Energy, where they were involved in migrating reclosers to TCP SCADA control and implementing DNP3 control for voltage regulators. Thomas then worked at Aegres as a Technologist, working on various projects at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and handling tasks such as software development and system administration. In 2014, Thomas joined AsdeqDocs as a Developer and remained there until 2018. Thomas then started their own company, Cerberus Computer Services, where they served as the Owner. Currently, Thomas is working at Ditto, where they hold the position of Mesh Network Engineer and is responsible for ensuring the communication between Ditto apps over WiFi, Bluetooth LE, etc., with a Rust core. Additionally, they recently took on the role of Transports Team Lead at Ditto.

Thomas Karpiniec completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Tasmania from 2007 to 2010. In addition, they obtained certifications in Offensive Security, including OSCE in September 2018 and OSCP in June 2018.
