We are growing at an incredible pace and are now looking for a Chief Financial Official to join the team. The successful candidate will own the finance flow of DIVD.fund, both organizational and compliance-related, and support the CEO on both our fundraising and financial programme finance flows and report to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting activities — both internally and with third parties — to maintain the highest standards of integrity, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Formulating, implementing, and monitoring compliance within and through accounting policies.
  • Managing the month-end close process and producing monthly management accounts and reports with strict adherence to organizational timelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory, tax, auditing, and external reporting requirements.
  • Oversight of finance-related regulatory processes, including safeguarding, charity requirements, and supporting the provision of financial information for regulatory projects.
  • Work with the CEO in preparing and monitoring performance against forecasts and budgets, providing analysis and strategic insight.

Required skills and experience

  • Have an interest in volunteer organizations and ideally have previously worked for one
  • Have a keen or growing interest in charity activities.
  • Have experience working within the finance department or regulated financial services organization, ideally in a team lead or more senior position, with demonstrable experience in managing a finance team.
  • Are a fully qualified accountant with post-qualification experience and statutory reporting knowledge.
  • Experience in audit, financial reporting, financial control, or regulatory reporting.
  • Thrive in an ever-changing, highly charitable work environment where the answer to a question may not be immediately available.
  • Are a self-starter, capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision, and a team player at heart.

Nice to have:

  • Speaks fluently in Dutch.
  • Experience with hiring and managing finance staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism
