Lakhan Patel

Lakhan Patel has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Lakhan began their career as a Junior Engineer at S & H Gears Pvt Ltd, where they were responsible for the maintenance of fully automatic electrically controlled gear manufacturing machines. Lakhan also supervised maintenance activities in the factory and managed the maintenance records of the machines. Lakhan then joined Doordarshan as an Assistant Engineer, where they worked for over 20 years until 2004. At Doordarshan, they gained experience in engineering and technical roles.

In 2004, Lakhan Patel joined All India Radio, Mumbai as an Ex. Assistant Director (Engineering). There, they were tasked with the technical maintenance of the second largest audio broadcasting set up in India. Lakhan'sprimary responsibility was to lead a team of 60 technical people and ensure that the broadcasting equipment in the studios and FM transmitting centers performed optimally. Lakhan also contributed to the implementation of a studio automation computer network as part of the digitization project of the studios.

Following their stint at All India Radio, Mumbai, Lakhan Patel worked at All India Radio, Leh for a year as an Ex. Assistant Director (Engineering). This role required him to oversee the functioning of a mid-sized broadcasting set up in a challenging location with high altitude. Lakhan managed technical maintenance, program production, administration, and transmission at the station.

In 2011, they transferred to All India Radio, Indore and took on the role of Ex. Deputy Director (Engineering). In this position, they managed a technical team of 30 individuals and was responsible for the smooth functioning of the studio automation network, a 6 KW FM transmitter, and a 200 KW Medium Wave transmitter. Additionally, they implemented a project to convert an analog 200 KW MW transmitter into a digital transmitter using DRM technology.

Lakhan Patel then joined All India Radio Khandwa in 2016 as an Ex. Deputy Director (Engineering). During their tenure, which lasted until 2018, they held supervisory responsibilities in the engineering department.

Most recently, Lakhan Patel founded their own company, Divergent Software Labs Pvt. Ltd., in 2019 and assumed the role of CEO. In the same year, they also briefly served as a Director at the company.

Throughout their career, Lakhan Patel has accumulated extensive experience in various engineering and technical roles, revealing their expertise in managing teams, leading digitization projects, and ensuring the smooth functioning of broadcasting equipment.

Lakhan Patel's education history includes a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Shri Vaishvav Polytechnic, Indore, which they obtained between 1978 and 1981. Lakhan then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical from Shri Govindram Sakseria Institute Technology and Science, Indore, from 1988 to 1991. Later, in 1995 to 1996, they attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where they studied Digital Signal Processing and obtained a PGDIIT degree. Finally, from 2006 to 2009, Lakhan Patel pursued a Master of Information Management degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.
