Christian Ahlefeldt-Laurvigen has a diverse work experience, starting in 1990 with roles at Haldor Topsøe as a Legal Advisor and later as a Marketing Coordinator. From 1992 to 1994, they worked as an Assistant Manager at DARUDEC (JV Haldor Topsøe/Kampsax). Christian then joined Djoef Negotiation Dept. as a Consultant from 1994 to 1995. Christian continued their career at Djoef Postgraduate Courses as a Chief Consultant from 1995 to 1998. Christian then became the Marketing Manager at Djoef Marketing Dept., responsible for sales and marketing of postgraduate courses and books. In 2001, Christian became the Head of Communications at Djoef Communcation Dept. Christian later held senior positions at Djøf, including Vice President and Chief Consultant.

Christian Ahlefeldt-Laurvigen completed their Master's degree in Law and Economics at Copenhagen Business School from 1984 to 1990. In 1988, they also pursued MBA courses at The University of British Columbia. Later, in 2010 and 2011, they obtained a Diploma in Organizational Psychology through postgraduate education at the Institute of Group Analysis.
