DLMS User Association
DLMS is the globally recognised international standard that specifies a language for data exchange with smart devices - such as utility meters - ensuring interoperability, efficiency and security. Used in 60+ countries, implemented by 150+ vendors, with over 1,000 certified device types, DLMS offers a solution to communicate with most constrained and unconstrained smart device types, over virtually any type of communication networks. DLMS was originally published as the IEC 62056 suite of standards in 2001, and has been used in utility smart metering projects as one of the early IoT applications with a strong business case since then. Utility metering remains a key application of DLMS while new applications are evolving. The DLMS UA is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 by leading utilities and meter manufacturers. It has grown to a global organization with 300+ members from all continents and 60+ countries involving utilities, meter manufacturers, system developers and integrators, and chip manufacturers. By becoming a member of the Association companies can benefit from: - Knowledge and experience of 150+ implementers; - The surety of over 1 000 certified device types; - An established compliance certification platform and test tool; - Training and support from renowned experts; - The ability to drive and influence the specification development; - International recognition of the specification through IEC, EN and national adoptions as standard.
