Marcel Lubben

Marcel Lubben has a diverse work experience. Marcel is currently the owner of Lubben Management BV since April 2020. Marcel is also serving as the Vice President Strategic Alliances at DMC Biotechnologies, Inc. since May 2020 and as a Partner at Brightlands Venture Partners since November 2020. Marcel holds the position of Chairman of the Board at Kaffe Bueno since December 2020 and Senior Advisor at EnginZyme since September 2020. Marcel has also been serving as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Vertoro since May 2022 and at PL BioScience GmbH since February 2022. Marcel has previously held positions as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Geelen Counterflow, a Business & Strategy Advisor at Vertoro, and the Managing Director - Avantium Renewable Polymers at Avantium.

Marcel Lubben began their education journey at Willem Lodewijk Gymnasium in Groningen in 1979 and completed their secondary education in 1985. Marcel then attended the University of Groningen from 1985 to 1990, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemistry. Subsequently, from 1990 to 1994, Marcel pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained a PhD in Organic Chemistry. During their PhD studies, they also had a brief stint at the University of Minnesota in 1993, focusing on Chemistry.
