Darren Paine

Darren Paine has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Darren started their career in 1993 by establishing a health food retail business and alternative medicine clinic. After that, they worked as a Software Team Leader and Software Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they designed and developed scientific analysis software and collaborated with end-users from commercial, scientific, and research fields. Darren then moved on to become an English Language Lecturer at International Language Schools from 2006 to 2009. Darren joined Apollo English in 2009 and held the roles of Centre and Academic Manager, as well as Information Technology Operations Manager. In these positions, they managed academic and IT systems and was involved in the project management of a foreign-owned education group in Vietnam. From 2015 to 2018, Darren served as the Academic Director at FOSCO International School, where they led the academic and technological aspects of the school and taught Computer Science classes. Following that, they worked as a Programme Manager at Coventry University's Centre for Global Engagement from 2018 to 2021. Currently, Darren is employed at DNA Electronics (DNAe) as a Software Engineering Lead, and previously they held the role of Software Engineer.

Darren Paine holds a Master's degree in Computing, which they obtained from The Manchester Metropolitan University between 1995 and 1997. Darren also has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from The University of Sheffield, which they attained from 1989 to 1992. In terms of additional certifications, Darren obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in May 2021, the Tableau Desktop Specialist certification from Tableau Software in November 2020, and the SAS Certified Specialist: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4 certification from SAS in October 2020. Furthermore, Darren has completed a Master's Degree in TESOL from Northumbria University, although the start year is not specified, and they completed this degree in 2016.
