Jaime J Barea, MD, FACMG

Jaime J. Barea, MD, FACMG has had a diverse work experience in the field of genetics. Jaime J co-founded DNAVisit in 2017 and currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer. DNAVisit provides genetic counseling services with the help of AI technology. Previously, from 2016 to 2020, Dr. Barea worked as a Biochemical/Clinical Geneticist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. In 2017, they joined Human Longevity, Inc. and held the positions of Director of Clinical Genomics and Clinical Geneticist. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they worked as the Director of Medical Genetics at Interpreta. Overall, Dr. Barea has gained extensive experience in the field of genetics through their various roles and positions.

Dr. Jaime J Barea completed a Clinical Biochemical Genetics fellowship at UC San Diego from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they pursued a Clinical Genetics fellowship at UC San Diego from 2012 to 2014. Jaime J completed their Pediatric Residency at UC San Diego between 2008 and 2012. Dr. Barea obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2008. Jaime J earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.
